Scrapbooking for geeks

Here’s a great screencast demo for the Scrapbook Firefox extension. It was done by Gina Trapani, the editor of Lifehacker, and she explains how it “could change how you save and search bookmarks and Web content forever”. After the screencast make sure you check out the whole article as she points out other features not included in the screencast.

Use your GPS data to share your travels with friends

Everytrail is an online platform that enables you to visualize your travel and outdoor activities and share these with likeminded people from all over the world”. You do this by uploading your GPS data that you recorded while out and about. Unfortunately I don’t have any type of GPS device, although I should considering I often get lost just walking from my front door to my car, but Everytrail has a really nice demo showing how you can use that data to create cool interactive maps to share with your friends.

Spy on your blog or website visitors with ClickTale

ClickTale gives you the opportunity to view your site visitors every mouse move and click, just like a movie. I stumbled upon their demo video on YouTube but had no idea what I was looking at until I went to their website. There’s no audio except for the lovely sound of mouse clicks. Really cool idea but to have the title “first official clicktale screencast” is a little depressing. To me, official sounds like something that really represents your product and this screencast doesn’t do them justice. They’re in private beta right now but you can request an invite on their site. Here’s the demo.

Interview and screencast demo with the creators of Renkoo

Renkoo is about spending time with people you already know and care about — your real-life, off-line, non-virtual friends”. I recently created and posted a screencast demo on Screeniac showing how to go about using Renkoo. Today I came across this screencast demo and interview on Jeremy Zawodny’s blog which not only shows you how to use Renkoo, but also gives you an idea of why you’d use it.
