Floorplanner is a design tool that allows you to build floor plans and add all the furnishings you’d need when designing a room or even an entire home. They have over 300 furniture and decorative items and they can all be re-sized, rotated, and the color customized. After saving your design, you can share it via email, export the image, create a link, or you can create a widget to put on your website or blog.

In the future, Floorplanner will provide “real” furniture that users will be able to purchase online. Here’s my screencast tour of Floorplanner:

People of the Web is a recent addition to Yahoo! News. It’s goal is to share the stories about the people who are behind some of the interesting things we find online. Right now there are five stories published, which include video, and they were all stories about people I probably never would have known. My teen crush, Kirk Cameron, was included and I had no idea that he has a Christian website.

I made this screencast because I think it’s great to learn about the hows and whys a blog or website got started and I love learning new things about the people who started them. I just want to note that you can submit a story to POTW by clicking on this link, which is located at the bottom of the POTW page.
