Annotate any web page easily with JumpKnowledge

JumpKnowledge is a Web annotation too that lets you comment on and share any web page.  You can add comments next to any text on a page and even create multiple pages of annotations.  You can then share these pages with a link, through email, on your blog, or just save them for yourself.  The only beef I have with JKN (JumpKnowledge) is that you can’t comment on images.  But hey, it’s only in beta 2.  Here’s my screencast tour of JKN:

Friday show and tell – Here's to you fellow screencasters

I know I’m not the only one out there making screencasts so I figured today I’d share a few that I just came across.  I’d like to share more cool screencasts so if you come across any or if you like to make your own let me know in the comments!

The first screencast is from PCMechanic and shows you how to use Sizer, Firefox, Foxmarks, and Launchy to make Widows work better for you. You can view it here.

These next two screencasts are from Sketch.Basement.org and explain Sketchcasting and how to Sketchcast. Wtf is Sketchcasting? That’s what I said. Watch this to find out and this to find out how.

See the Zoho Viewer in action

Zoho Viewer is the newest addition to the Zoho Suite. It allows you to quickly upload a document and create a permalink that you can share with others via email. You can also get the embed code for your document so you can post it on your blog or website. There’s an easy download option and it supports 15 file formats. I recently was contacted by the guys at Zoho to create a custom screencast for the Zoho Viewer, so if you want to see it in action first, check it out here.

DemoGirl needs a home in San Francisco

Watch out San Francisco, here comes Molly! I just recently decided (last night ;) ) to move to San Francisco instead of back up to Seattle. I’ve been in California all summer and was really looking forward to going back to Seattle next month but since I have the best job in the world and can work anywhere I decided that maybe I needed a change of scenery for a while. There’s only one problem…I don’t have a place to live! That’s where you, my faithful and kind hearted readers of DemoGirl, come in. Do you know someone who needs a roommate or has an apartment they need rented out? I’ve been scouring online resources for a place to live and I figured why not reach out to some of my people! I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask and someone may know someone that needs a roomie next month. OK, here’s a bit about myself:

I’m a girl
I have a steady job
I’m a vegetarian, but I don’t mind carnivores :)
I work at home
I love cooking and make kick ass Mexican food
I’m pretty neat but sometimes I throw my clothes on the floor
I like to play guitar although I’m not really getting any better
I love going to see live music
I’ll usually pick beer over wine
I don’t have any pets but I love animals

That’s all the info I’m gonna give up for now but if you know someone then drop me a line here:

Thanks!

Kaboodle stole half of my morning and all I have to show for it is 6 minutes…

Kaboodle is a social networking shopping site that helps you keep track of all the things you want to purchase, in organized lists.  These lists can also be used for organizing a trip or a party – it’s all up to you to decided how you want to use it.  The Kaboodle bookmarklets allow you to quickly and easily add items you find while browsing the web to your Kaboodle lists.  You can also find people with similar style, copy and share lists, and create polls to get advice on the items in your lists.  I have to admit, until today I had never used Kaboodle but it ate most of my morning – in a good way.  Here’s my screencast tour of Kaboodle:

Blogmusik – Create custom playlists and discover new music

Blogmusik is a service that lets you create custom playlists of your favorite songs and share them on your blog or website. They also give you a way to discover new music with their SmartPlayer. Basically, when you’re listening to a song and you want to find similar music, click on the “start” button. Blogmusik will start playing suggested songs which you can quickly skip through, block from future playing, and add to the playlist of your choice. Here’s my screencast tour of blogmusik:

SplashCast and NPR together on facebook

SplashCast recently launched the NPR Podcast Player which you can add to your facebook profile. If you’re not familiar with SplashCast, it’s a service that allows you to mix audio, video, music, photos, and more and create your own streaming media channel. It all comes together in their slick SplashCast Player.

The NPR Podcast Player allows you to listen to and share NPR podcast episodes, which are automatically updated, from your facebook profile. It’s pretty straight forward but I like to show you stuff I like :) . Here’s my screencast tour of the NPR Podcast Player:

SecondRotation wants to sell your gadgets on eBay

SecondRotation is a service that wants to buy your used digital cameras, camcorders, mp3 players, and other gadget goodies and then turn around and sell them on eBay.  You just need to find the item you want to sell, tell their “dynamic pricing calculator” the condition of the item, and then decide if you want to take their offer.  If you think you’re getting a good deal you can print out a pre-paid shipping label (that’s right, they pay for shipping) and wait for your check or PayPal payment to arrive.  If they receive your item and it isn’t in as good condition as you thought, SecondRotation will make you another offer.  You can deny the offer and they’ll still pay shipping on the return.  You’re taking a chance that you may not get as much for your gear as you would selling it on eBay yourself, but if time is money then SecondRotation could be a great service for some people.  Here’s my screencast tour of SecondRotation:

DailyLit knows you spend too much time online

DailyLit is a service that lets you read books through email or RSS. Just pick your book, decide if you want to read the book in your email or feed reader, and choose the days you want to read it. On the day and time of your choice, DailyLit will spit a “part” of the book into your email or reader. You can even choose to continue onto the next part – if you’re feeling like a super slacker (meaning: you’re doing this at work ;) ). Here’s my screencast tour of DailyLit:
