If people don't have access to good recording equipment or speak a different language then people needing support, audio just won't work. I do know that it says be creative and most screencast software allows you to add text spots to the screencast, so that can replace audio. I'm not sure about the whole language barrier factor there, but it's an idea of how to get your point across without using audio.
