Create and Manage Invoices Online With Invoicera

Invoicera provides users with a quick and easy way to manage online billing.  The site offers a very basic free account, or you can go with a paid account — ranging in price from $7/mo. to $149/mo.

invoicera

The site itself is fairly easy to use.  I did have to search around a bit to find out how to enter payments received.  But setting up clients and creating invoices is a breeze.  One feature I like is the ability to set up employee access — this allows managers to easily keep track of the amount each employee is billing for.

I would be willing to pay to use the service if there was an integration of expenses and liabilities available.

Online Business Card + About Me Page + RSS Feed = Card.ly

Card.ly gives you a really easy way to create an online business card containing links to all of your online profiles.  Card.ly doesn’t stop there though – you can also add contact information, an ‘about me’ section, and RSS feeds.

cardly_logo

When you sign up, you’ll select a custom URL.  Mine is www.card.ly/molly.  You can then add your usernames for the various social networking sites you belong to like Digg, Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook.  The next step is to create your ‘about me’ section and then add as much, or as little, contact information as you want shown.  You can add your personal Website, your address, phone numbers, and IM usernames.  Lastly, select your design and your page will be set and ready to go.

cardly_1

There is a free account (which is what I used for this screencast) and a paid-for subscription option.  Paid accounts get access to more themes, they’re ad-free, and you can use a custom domain.

GButts Gets You To The Google Service You Need, With One Click

GButts is a Firefox Add-on that allows you to create a single menu loaded with all of your favorite Google services.

gbutts_logo

After you install it you can choose to have an icon for each service displayed or a drop down from the Google logo (which is what I chose).  You can select as many, or as few, services as you’d like to include in your button.

Guzzle.it Feeds You News About Topics You Choose

Guzzle.it is a type of news feed dashboard that allows you to select specific topics that interest you, and create a page filled with articles and images about those topics.

guzzle_logo

You don’t need to sign up for anything in order to get started.  Just select a bunch of topics that you want to read about – I chose screencast, Camtasia, running, vegetarian, NIN, and Social Media.  Those topics aren’t really related, but that’s OK because you can create separators and drag and drop various topics underneath the appropriate section.  When you’re all through customizing your content you can create your page.

You can easily switch to an image view for each of the topics and remove them any time you need a change.  After you create your page, you have the option of saving it by creating an account.

Quickly Create and Share Lists With Itumz

I was reading MakeUseOf today and a word in one of their titles caught my eye.  The word was list — I saw that word and, of course, I clicked through to check out list-creating Web site itumz.

itumz

Itumz is a web-based tool that lets you quickly create lists and then share them with others via a custom link — you can also share the link quickly through facebook, twitter, digg and stumbleupon.

You can create a list without signing up, but the list won’t be saved until you create a free account . The service could be a cool way to share lists with friends and colleagues, or just to keep track of yourself. If you forget to save changes to your lists, itumz has you covered — the site automatically saves your changes as you make them.  Itumz also has a mobile version available.

Discover And Collect The Best Videos From All Over The Web With Magma

Magma gives you a way to discover, collect, share, and comment on videos from all across the Web.  It’s in private beta as of now, but I got an invite and took it for a spin this morning.  So far, I really like what I see.

magma_logo

When you first log into your account, you’ll see the top rated videos followed by the newest added to the site.  Videos are rated by their presence on the Web – meaning how many views and comments it’s received and the attention surrounding it.  You can add any video you like to your own channel and organize them by adding them to categories.  Available channels at the moment include Hulu, Dailymotion, Digg, Vimeo, YouTube, and CollegeHumor.  That just names a few.

magma_2

You can follow channels and people on Magma, so you’ll always know when there’s new content to watch.  One of the coolest features is that each video has its own page that shows you total views and comments from all across the Web.  This allows you to view detailed statistics of each video.  You can also comment on this page as well.

Testing Out 'Labs' In Your Google Calendar

If you use Google Calendar then you may have noticed the little green labs icon up near your settings.  This is where Google is allowing you to test out some features that may or may not get pushed through as permanent fixtures in Google Calendar.  As of now there are six features:  Adding a background to your calendar, attaching Google Docs to an event (love that one!!), a world clock, jump to date, next meeting, and free or busy.

gcal_2

Once enabled, they sit on the right side of your calendar – and there doesn’t seem to be a way to rearrange them or move them to the left side.  I’m not going to explain what each one does here – you’ll need to watch the 3 minute screencast if you want to find out.  Or, you can just test them out yourself.  I recommend doing the former :)

Fonolo Helps You Bypass Annoying Phone Menus And Records Your Calls

You know when you call certain businesses and you’re given the warning, “Your call may be recorded to ensure quality service” or something of that nature?  Well, the team at Fonolo is giving you that very same power.  Not only that, but you can completely bypass all of the annoying phone menus and access the point of customer care that you’re looking for.

fonolo_logo

The entire process is very simple: Create an account, search for the company you want to call, and select the menu in the phone tree that you wish to access.  If you’ve added your phone number to your account then Fonolo will call you once it’s connected and you can get straight to the point.  From there you can simply click on the “start recording” button and your call will be recorded.  You can also add notes and bookmark companies that you frequently call.  The recording can later be played online or you can download it.

fonolo_2

There’s also a nice feature called “Quick Tones” that allows you to add longs strings of numbers, like your frequent flier number, and then you can have Fonolo enter them in for you with one click.  This isn’t recommended for things like credit cards, but if you’re always calling your cable company or car insurance carrier, then this could come in handy when asked for your account number.

I Wandered Into ZooLoo and I Could Not Find My Way Out

Have you been wondering where I’ve been?  I stumbled upon ZooLoo last week and I couldn’t seem to find my way out.  Not really… but I couldn’t seem to get a screencast to come in under seven minutes.  I’ve been tinkering a bit and I got the demo down to a reasonable level.  What is the reason for my troubles?  ZooLoo just has a tremendous number of features packaged into one site.

zooloo

There is the dashboard, which is similar to iGoogle.  There is an entertainment channel where you can quickly access many different videos and watch them right within ZooLoo.  You can go shopping, keep in touch with friends (once you get them to sign up), store media and even maintain a blog.

Many of the features are really handy — I like the Zbutton, which allows you to quickly add items to your wishlist or graffiti wall — but some, like the social area, might take some time to catch on.   The ZooLoo site has a number of tutorials to help you navigate the site, but I’ve put together my own little demo.

Create A Color Palette From Your Favorite Photo With Pictaculous

Pictaculous is a great little tool for creating color palettes out of images.  Whether it’s your favorite family photo or your favorite Website logo, Pictaculous can generate a color palette out of it in seconds.

pictaculous_1

To use Pictaculous, just upload an image and click on “Get My Palette”.  You’ll then be shown the color palette pulled from your image as well as suggested color palettes from Kuler and COLOURlovers.  You can use this data to help create a design based on your Website logo or to simply create a design around your favorite photo.

pictaculous_2

You can download the Adobe Swatch File and email it to friends or co-workers.  There’s no sign up involved and the whole process literally takes seconds.
